Inmarsat

INMARSAT: A PARTNERSHIP THAT DEMANDS THE BEST

This year, Inmarsat celebrates 40 years of providing satellite services. That’s 40 years of providing critical communications, 40 years of launching and flying satellites, 40 years of mobile services and 40 years of innovation. We’ve changed a lot over the years and in 40 years’ time, we’ll no doubt look even more different.

Naturally, we could not have enjoyed the success we’ve had without the support of our partners. So it’s worth mentioning that there’s another significant milestone to celebrate this year – 21 years of working with one of our most innovative and exacting partners, Satcom Direct.

Over those years we’ve grown our relationship from activating Classic Aero services, through to Swift64, SwiftBroadband and now JetConneX. And since those early days, Satcom Direct has shown huge amounts of trust and belief in us.

They have often been the first to market with new products we’ve launched, ensuring they always offer customers the most cutting-edge technology available. It’s no wonder they became first partner to hit 300 activations with Jet ConneX, our Ka-band offering for the BGA market. That level of growth has continued and they have impressively recently hit 300 installations.

With a reputation for innovation, Satcom Direct is continually adding value to the BGA market, with the introduction of routers on business aircraft and their enhanced cybersecurity offering being prime examples.

Satcom Direct’s ability to add value to whatever they do, is one of the major reasons that our relationship goes from strength to strength. Their outstanding customer support provides crucial insight into just what customers need, and in turn this vital intel from the marketplace pushes us to respond quickly to tailor our product base to their requirements.

Without a partner like SD, we may never fully comprehend the demands of the customer base, and be able to apply new product requirements with such accuracy or offer such specific support.

There’s no doubt that our relationship continually pushes us to evolve our service, which is why we are currently developing more tools and greater commercial flexibility to enable Satcom Direct to support the business aviation community even better.

So as we enter the next 21 years of partnership, we aim to become more responsive, work more in line with the market demands, and mutually benefit whilst we serve the market better. May this partnership continue to demand only the best.

CONTINUING EFFECTS OF THE CONNECTIVITY SERVICE AGREEMENT

Intelsat is proud to be a 2019 Platinum sponsor for Satcom Direct’s CwC conference program. This allows customers to see firsthand what our partnership can do for the Business Aviation community.

Last month during CwC 2019 in Orlando, Intelsat’s Mark Rasmussen (VP and General Manager of Mobility) had the opportunity to speak about FlexExec, Intelsat’s premier connectivity solution designed specifically for business aviation. FlexExec is the only Ku-band high-throughput connectivity service that is available globally.
