COMSAT has signed a seven-year Master Distribution Agreement (MDA) with Avanti Communications. The agreement enables COMSAT to offer advanced, complete service packages to its customers, with a focus on particular high‐value deployments, currently planned or underway.
The Avanti advanced satellite fleet, including the newest addition Hylas 4 satellite, provides highly flexible capacity services across Africa, Europe, and Latin America. COMSAT’s decades of experience and technical capability will blend with Avanti’s advanced satellite fleet to deliver robust communication services in key locations.
COMSAT also received a new certification this year. The World Teleport Association announced that COMSAT has achieved Tier 4 full certification of its Santa Paula, California and Southbury, Connecticut teleports under WTA’s Teleport Certification Program. Tier 4 is the highest quality level in the WTA standard, and the COMSAT Teleports are the first in North America to achieve this qualification. This was a tremendous accomplishment!
